the Blue front sprocket can move along the shaft by a small amount.

I have seen people move it right to one end of its travel and then align the main sprocket incorrectly against that. when everything is running, and the sprocket moves to the middle or other end of its travel, the whole thing is out of alignment and you get lots of wear.

Also, if the sprocket gets jammed so it cannot travel, you get wear as well. I'm away from the engine, so I'm guessing the acceptable travel is about half a tooths width.
