Ian, let’s not give up so easily;
Many years ago, at great personal expense I bought my first data-logger and thought to myself – great, now I will start to understand the kart chassis and its setup – what a fool I was.

I started out with the simple idea that in test sessions I would be able to make adjustments to the kart and tyres and then just observe the overall change in lateral G and then make further adjustments and so on.

Unfortunately, which I know for a fact, an increase in lateral G does not equate to a faster laptime!

Now you say “I spend all my time trying to IMPROVE my grip to improve my lap times” I think what you are really saying is that ‘you spend all of your time trying to go around each corner quicker’ which NOT the same thing.
