Im no gillard brakes expert for wht your after but i do run them, we got to the point where our pads were like this and never thought anything of it as i like long travel and variation.

Then Gary Chapman saw how low we were running the pads and told us we better change the pads as they were too thin. He Said there is too much travel in them and it gets to a point where they start to put pressure on the caliper when the piston is too far out.

Corse when the piston is too far out it will twist downards as the disk pulls it this way and can damage the caliper.

Bit of a mick take as were can really only use half of the pad which is purchased
