Why so many trophies?

I have only been in karting with my son a few years but I cannot believe the number of trophies given out. It's something like 1 per 5 entries. Why!?! Has it gone this way over the years?

The number that didn't bother to go to the Shenny prize giving on Sunday was terrible. Even many that did were not that bothered, as I think personally due to the number, the value has diminished.

Maybe just give for the first 3 or maybe as a minimum first 3 then one in ten.

I would rather see the money go back into the clubs rather that wasted.

Am I wrong?
