Isnt is just, I started with an AK with 257 engine a few years ago, bought it off a mate for Ł200 and managed to win our club novice championship on it (even with the steering column splitting in half during a race lol) Then managed to buy a Maverick Rolling chassis and found someone selling a cr via Ian at viper for Ł1250 with everything (carb, exhaust, digi ignition etc etc) that was a year ago and since then have had 2 barrel replates, 4 pistons, head volume tweaked and now its time for a bottom end rebuild with new parts as its starting to jump out of 3rd every now and again......luckily I do all of it myself (or friends help) apart from the plating..... it can get very expensive if you want to be at the front, but the smile on your face at the end of a day is worth it. Even got a shelf full of trophies to show for it :)
