Chris Cowells use to do a decent article in karting mag called the two stroke column that was aimed at newbies and people on budgets and had some sound advice. He could go on a bit but his advice was good and dispelled a lot of karting myths. So there was something out there that was pulled. A lot of karting has become all image. The amount of people you see with new equipment and they don't know anything about the basics. To the point where i had to show a guy how to tighten his front wheels properly without shredding bearings. I also sold a guy a s60 for his son to learn on that was perfect and the first thing he did was spend quite a few quid upgrading the engine complaining it wasn't fast enough. When i watched his son god love him he was in the middle of the track all the way round with no idea of turn in, apex and exit points yet the guy was trying to buy time. There is a buisness oppertunity out there helping people with the basics. And by that i mean travelling to peoples homes or practice sessions and showing them basic set up and maintenence and dispelling some of the nonsence talked.
