Does the lever that operates the master cylinder start at an acute angle?
If it is over 90 degrees then you can run out of brakes very quickly.
Are the pads of the correct type?
If they are too hard, they may not work well when hot and may glaze up quickly.
Could you have altered the leverage point on the pedal or master cylinder lever?
Even if there is air in the system, the brakes should still work, just feel spongy.
Does it bleed freely, id est, does fluid flow freely from the nipples under gravity feed??
Were the new pipes and connectors compatible because it is possible for a wrong combination the close up the connector on the flare end and severly restrict the fluid flow.
I saw it once where even ludicrous pressure wouldn't operate the caliper.
