You said you had a CRG and the brakes were ok but took a while to warm up and that the pads wer Ł50 lasting 2 meetings.
As a suppier of CRG I have to take issue with that statement. Either you were running a very old CRG or the brake system was poorly set up, maybe faulty.
The CRG Ven 05 brake is an excellent system more than capeable of locking the wheels with little pedal effort cold or hot. However the fact that the wheels can be locked does not make a good brake. Agreed the system needs to have the ability to lock the wheels if asked to do so but it is braking power that holds the key in that the brake needs to be powerful enough and sensetive enough to give feel and allow you to control the braking effort applied to almost lock the wheels to achieve the best stopping ability.
In my opinion your post leads me to think that you are looking for a brake that will lock the wheels not stop or slow you in the most efficient manner, possibly time for a re think!
BTW. Genuinge CRG ven 05 brake pads retail @ Ł35 inc vat.
