If this is truely meant to be a direct competitor for the Rotax class (I doubt it) then there will only be one significant factor in deciding it's fate - cost. If it's not noticeably less than Rotax overall well..........

If it is meant as a replacement for KF then there are still the problems of:
1) Where will they race - there are already way too many classes at some clubs?
2) Will it still be recognised by the MSA as the pinnacle of kart racing in the UK with 'British Championship' staus?
3) It will have to cost less than KF.
4) Does the lack of an engine seal really make much of a difference to most people? By which I mean what percentage of competitors are able to rebuild their own engines?

I'm sure karting will continue to evolve but this is a time when the sport should be consolidating what it already has. The draught will be most severely felt in 2011.
