Again, some vary valid points but heres one for you regarding too much overall grip. When I started I had an old anderson AK chassis and on one lap on a good day when I was feeling overly brave/stupid (make your own choice lol) I went round pit bend with both inside wheels around 6 inches off the ground (someone got a great pic of it and I must get a copy) to the point that I had to straighten and aim for the wall to stop from flipping. I must admit I did back off for a lap or two after that (well it was my second race). As for widening the rear axle, lowering COG etc etc, believe me I have the rear axle at the widest, my seat is as low as it can go without my bum kissing the cats eyes and if I was anymore laid back I wouldnt be able to reach the steering wheel. Now normally this is perfect for me but I bought a set of DDM's instead of the usual DCH's I normally run and found that after about 6-8 laps it became really silly trying to hang on to the thing. To me that smacks of too much 'rear' (in this instance, but not 'lack of front') grip as turn is was fine. So for me in that instance the tyres provided too much rear grip that I was unable to dial out as my set up was at its extremities.
p.s any suggestions as to what you would have tried next?
