My boy is currently in Junior Rotax and is now eligable to move to Seniors though he can stay in this current class for a further year.
The problem we have is this.
We currently have 10kgs of lead around the seat AND 3/4 fuel tank ( 0.7kgs per litre so circa 3.5kgs of fuel ) this gives us a grid weight of 150kgs ( the minimum class weight being 148kgs)... of course over a 8, 10, or 20 lap heat/final this weight comes down to circa 148.5 - 149kgs.
Now....
To go into senior rotax we would CURRENTLY need to add a further 13kgs of lead to make circa 163kgs (just 1kg over the minimum class weight)....nightmare...chances are he will only put another kilo on from now till Xmas and beleive me he eats well, but keeps himself extremely fit also.
This would potentially give him a static lead excess of circa 22kgs....
Surely that will effect the karts dynamics ?
Great in the wet maybe but a nightmare to hold onto in the dry, grippy conditions ?
