I would suggest visiting rissington and shenington on the saturday of their race weekends and then you will be able to talk to other cadet dads. The race day for Rissington is the first Sunday of the month and for shenington the third Sunday (so day before for practice).
You would be better off looking on the marketplace of this site rather than ebay and it is coming up to the time when karts get sold ready for moving up next year.
Kartmania in November could also be worth a visit as they have the area for sale of usewd equipment.
If you are buying a helmet - it will need to be the CMR one.
