I doubt the seller deliberately mislead you. I own a Venom and had no idea that Spellfame or Paul Carr no longer stock the seals so doubt he did either.

Anyway, almost without exception, all seals, bearings, rod ends, cables, nuts, bolts and washers are standard off-the-shelf parts so it's just a case of finding a stockist of seals, measuring what you have and ordering them. You may also find motorcycle spares shops can get hold of them.

Some suppliers that may have them are:

RS Components
Bovill Boyd
GF Seals
Supaseal

Worst case scenario is that it was a custom made seal, in which case, a new master cylinder is the way to go (or even a complete system). I know you'd prefer not to buy one but - and it sounds harsh to say it - karting is expensive and Ł60-150 is not going to be your biggest bill ever.
