Check to see iof you havfe a choice of 'mounting holes' in the pedal and/or the mastyer cylinder lever (or whatever). The holes to which I am referring are for the pull cable/rod. If there are options up/down the pedal/lever then you need to think about which holes to use. Thye clue is as follows:-

1) The further UP the pedal/master-cylinder-lever:-

* less pedal movement
* More foot pressure needs to be applied
* more feed-back from the brakes through your foot

2) The further DOWN the pedal/master-cylinder-lever:-

* Pedal travels further but gives a more subtle range of 'foot pressures' available to you
* Less foot-pressure needs to be applied
* Reduced feed-back

My current suspicion is that your old kart had it's cable-pullrod mounted further DOWN the pedal/lever than your current kart and thus, perhaps, you should move your cable/pullrod DOWNward!
