You have to admit Mr Cox is trying hard. He has his works driver telling us all how wonderful this new engine is and how much fun those drivers who have tried it had. I am sure that anyone of us would come off the track having driven it would also be smiling but only in the same way that we would having just got out of a new Porsche or a new Focus RS that you had just been allowed to drive to the max. It doesn't mean that we are all about to go buy one no matter how many world champions tell us how wonderful it will be.

Money is tight at the moment for a lot of competitors, it doesn't need much to tip the balance and more drivers will retire. So what does this package bring that is in the best interests of karting as against those of who are going to profit from it.

The MSA are trying to sort out the problems in karting, hence they commisioned George Robinson to spend a year reviewing the sport. There is already a lot of criticism regarding the super cadet class and here we have another proposal for another class before the report is issued. Maybe that is Mr Cox's plan, get this new class included in the report.

TV adverts are full of champions promoting their sponsors, they dont do it for free out of the goodness of their hearts. Just remember that a proportion of every purchase of this new engine goes to pay for works drivers.

To answer Mr Simpson, No I am not a luddite, nor am I a stupid gullible sheep.
