We use a 2.6Kw genny to run our 2Kw heat gun in cadets (alledgedly). It does it with no issue.

The point to watch out for if you go bigger is the weight. Ours is a reasonably common framed unit and it weighs in at 43Kg dry. The more power you want the bigger the unit.

If you have deep pockets you can of course buy the weight out of it.
