..what is that ? .... a magnesium alloy ?

ALL mag wheels are an alloy. nothing is made from pure magnesium. It will be one of the common mag alloys used for cast wheels..and weldable.

but not worth the trouble/risk /cost when you can buy a replacement wheel relatively cheaply.
