If you drill the relief hole your pump will be less efficient.

On our Rotax we haven't changed the pump kit for four years.

It doesn't leak back either, it holds rock solid.

I just strip it and bias the tabs on of clear plastic bit so that they press on the black diaphragm.

I clean the black gasket very carefully to remove the crud that acumulates around the holes.

At £9.00 each, the kits are expensive and people change them quite unneccessarily, when all they need is a tweek and clean.
