Ruins engine performance if wrongly jetted

Run too large a jet (rich) and your kart will be flat as you like off the corners, run too small a jet (lean) and it will cough and splutter as it screams for fuel - being even one jet off can be costly in lap times

You need to test out different jets, no good relying on others for info as whilst it may give you a rough idea, it depends largely on your own engine and carb set up/behaviour

Max engines designed to operate at around 60 degrees - if it fails to reach this during a session, try partially blocking the radiator with some gaffer tape strips

You'll find that a cold engine runs leaner, and a hot engine runs rich - so if it splutters at the start of a session you may be slightly on the lean side until it warms up, and if it's flat at the end then it's a bit rich
