I've done a number of street races in karts in Ireland in the 1980s and it is an incredible experience. However that was before health and safety became a part of our vocabulary.
Unfortunately even if the MSA do get their way and street racing does become a part of the motorsport calendar in Great Britain, karting is too far down the food chain to stump up the cost of mounting one of these events.
Its interesting that the MSA refer to the economic benefits of running street races. A friend of mine was the guy behind the recent Sao Paulo Indycar event and he told me that already [in its first year] it is the 4th most profitable annual event to take place in the city.
