Take his weight further back is the most obvious without seeing the kart, tyres, pressures, etc.. That may also point to a problem in the dry, too. Is he very short? You may also have TOO much Caster, you add Caster to reduce UNDERSTEER; if he's got severe oversteer, you may need less caster. The other obvious choice is tyre pressures and 'condition'. How old were the set of tyres?
Secondly, get him to be less 'aggressive' with the throttle. Apply it more smoothly and the 'drive' out of the corners will be better. Many karters tyr FULL throttle out of the corners and just 'whine away' the grip and acceleration.
Third... wet line is OFTEN wildly different to dry-line. Rubber and oil gets laid on the inside (apex) of the corner and the track gets worn smoother after only a few years. Those things work against wet driving. Get him to try a BIZARRE line round the OUTSIDE of some corners. That line will be less oil and rubber and will noy have been worn smooth. The effect is quite a surprise!
