Don't try to tipex or paint over the scratch leave it bare.
Our helmet had a graze and we tipexed it. This meant the scrutineers couldn't see as easily how deep it was, luckily they said it was ok.
When they were talking about it they said something about if it broke through a gel layer then it was a problem.
