my lad started in honda cadet, i also live in essex. you are located in the best part of the country if honda cadet is the way you wish to go.
Buckmoore park , bayford medows, lydd, rye house ,kimbolton, wilton mill all run honda cadet and all within a one and a half hour drive from home. honda is a great starter class, its cheapish(as no karting is cheap)easy to set up its a good class for a bit of Dad and Son weekend fun. if after a year your lad like it then move into coma cadet at start to travel a bit.
ENJOY
