see my previous post for the way specified lengths are established. The official lap length must be published on the MSA track licence so it may well be worth asking to see a copy of this.
I have been invoved with a number of circuit licence inspections by John Symes of the MSA on both Car and Kart circuits but I have never seen him check what was written on the application form but I have twice measured circuits in the way I previously described for applications.
As an example Dunkeswell is listed at 1016m on the licence and a measured GPS race lap on the racing line is 971m so the official length seems about right in this case.
