There’s only one way to find out: try before you buy – as you intend to do anyway.
With your experience and maturity you won’t have any problem in whatever it is. I say those factors also mean you deserve the best, and then there’s ultimately no choice.
If you’re basically starting afresh, Biland is perhaps not the way to go. It was last manufactured in 2006. Its modern equivalent is the Swissauto, which is what the Sodi RX250 also is in considerably detuned form. But racing for this and similar engines has yet to re-establish itself.
For renting, Daytona in Milton Keynes have an equivalent to the RX250 called the D-MAX, but it is 2-stroke and if you don’t like the smell …
