Its a nigerian scam Alan, take a look at this site and read some of the leeters, their all the same........

You can even reply and give them the run around or just ignore

In a nutshell they offer to buy your item without even seeing it, they send you a cheque for a lot more than the item your selling, they ask for you to send them your item along with the the remainder of the money from the cheque. Some weeks later your bank informs you the cheque has bounced but by then you have already sent your item along with your good money either in the form of a cheque or western union
