A driver without natural talent will never "get up to speed", if by that you mean lap record pace (depending on the strength of the opposition, you don't alweays have to be particularly quick to win). Senna had both the natural talent and the self analytical ability to teach himself how to drive in the wet. He wasn't taught, and would not have turned out any quicker if he had been.
