thanks to alanrr my transponder now seems to be working ok.
i tried the suggested actions at the weekend, and after a full charge it is now flashing green - 3 flashes yesterday, two today, presumably one tomorrow.
guess it won't need a new battery just yet after all.

my next question....is it best to keep the transponder plugged in and charging constantly, or should I let it run down and only charge it up before each race meeting?
