Forget the engine at the mo to some degree.
Basics first.
Bum in seat time aound the circuit.
seat position, needs comfort and control.

Dont concentrate on the speed but the technique, get this right and the times come.
Think of a corner as number 10 in at three out at 7. In fast at 7 and youre out at three,
Its a good way to try and explain that full out into a corner isnt what is needed there, especially through the horse shoe, the kart needs to be balanced and you need to carry the speed on the exit.
Smooth: no yanking the wheel.
we ran 20/70 at weekend, but it was cold and not too grippy so a bit of a compromise.
Find another cadet to practice with.
Get a map and take one corner at a time and get him to watch the cadet lines, use markers on the circuit such as changes in tarmac as reference points.
There were some experienced cadets out at the weekend, and as a newbie- yes thats where you are aiming.
Once you are sure this isnt a fad. Use a datalogger like Mychron 4 or alfano
