There's a difficulty there, since the clubs concerned need to have some drivers who register that club as their 'home club'. Apparently Rowrah has only had a couple in the years they have been associated with the NKRA, so one can only assume that the club members themselves didn't want a round there.

Other clubs do raise complaints if they "send drivers away" to other clubs but don't see a similar benifit in return. If there is a club that has no drivers then it's stopping other clubs from seeing benefit.

Teeside never applied to be a member of the NKRA. There's a rule that says that new clubs (never been members before) can be given a round in their first year without having the number of drivers. Obviously rounds are organised the year before, in 2009 for 2010 and so on, so a club joining may not have the memberships at that point. Having said that, the new scottish clubs that applied in 2009 and have been given rounds in 2010 all managed to have a number of drivers registered by the end of 2009!

So really it's up to the drivers to register at the different track if they want to drive there. I'm a member of several clubs and I register at the NKRA with one of them. I choose the club to make sure that the tracks I like has a vote, and agree with other multi-members to make sure that not all the votes end at one track. Not exactly rocket science, though of course it helps if the club is proactive and chases registrations if it wants rounds.

Ok, I agree with that, I was lucky that I do two club championships and they take in most of the NKRA and challenge rounds in the South, so I had done a challenge round before realising that I needed it to get a number. But that is because I race Blue and it is competition for a National number. The other classes just need to do the NKRA rounds (though their numbers are not then nationally recognised).

But if it is an issue, why didn't it get raised at the AGM? All member clubs have the right to send two reps (or appoint a proxy) to the AGM and to raise questions at the AGM. None did.

(OK, there's an ongoing problem there in that drivers don't necessarily link up to their clubs and club reps don't necessarily get as involved with the NKRA as they might, but there's always the area rep.).

Incidentally, changes do get made thanks to the AGM, it appears that we might be able to use dataloggers with the download facility intact (eg the Mychron 4) in future though the details are still being worked out.
