depends what you mean by off....if as in racing along and it pops off then the the above message!

if you mean off as in its been used too much then lay the chain flat on a table with the longest side on the table (ie so your looking down on it as it would sit on a sprocket) and stretch it out so its straight. then put a hand on each end of the chain and arc it so it looks like a rainbow...the more it arcs, the more worn the chain is.....put a new chain next to it and do the same, you will notice a massive difference.
