Probably to pay for the increased costs of getting your circuit onto the S1 calender. Or maybe they know all the best S1 drivers will be coming to practice at rounds and all the club drivers who want to 'test' themselves against the best.
I beginning to think I might save a fortune this year by not racing at all!
