Hi Paul - we started racing with NatSka 6 years ago with our eldest - he started in Honda but the younger drivers can also compete in the Raket 85 class ( a 2 stroke engine ) . Rotax is available in Natska but after age 14 . The team work is great - we compete with the biggest team at Tarporley high school - team working is great and also a must as the team parents/ volunteers all have to do some time on marshal posts and some take on roles as officials at the meeting - secretary time keeping / start-finish / grid marshal etc - so you need the team to make sure that your child will be looked after in the paddock . Drivers have to pass a licensing with some time spent as a novice but if they have a MSA licence they only need to do one meeting in their chosen class from the back of the grid - they do have to do their marshalling though and get signatures for that before they get their full Natska licence . If it hadn't been for Natska we wouldn't have got into racing at all and now do MSA with both boys and the eldest competed at S1 junior TKM last year ( now seeded 12 ). They both started in Honda and had great sucess with it at Natska meetings and then have progressed steadily up to TKM - the Honda really is excellent driving training and teaches theam a smoothness to driving that really pays off when they move to the faster karts - the Hondas are also cheap and easy to run. We know try and do as much natska as poss and it does sometimes clash with MSA meetings - we have been known to have one driver at Natska and one at MSA on the same weekend - or do NatSka a on the Saturday and then go to a MSA club meeting on the Sunday- depends on how well you know the club circuit .
