Heat does help ut different materials will expand at different rates. Accordingly whilst it might help it might just as equally make the bolt tighter.

Sometimes you need to take your time. Use loads of duck oil of WD40 to soak the stuck bolt. Keep going back and give it another spray, and then another. Let it soak over night and then try in the morning.

If you have already damaged the bolt head you need to make sure you have given the oil enough time to be effective as if it is already weakened all that will happen is you will round it off and you are then looking at drilling it out with a stud remover.

Best of luck but take your time

Graeme

PS if you are using heat make sure you remove all the seals as rubber will not take too kindly to extreme temperature
