ross, on a club level i really wouldnt worry about rule bending/spending loads on engines. i started racing at hooton half way through the year.....bought a sidewinder with engines, and have lapped within half a second of the leaders by my 4th meeting. yes there may be some people who have better engines than others, but i havent noticed if they have!!!! yes there have been a few drivers who are quicker than others at hooton, but theyre bloody good drivers.
the whole engine/clutch cheeting/bending of rules doesnt really happen in tkm anywhere near as much as rotax....theres very little you can do to a tkm to alter its performance....so prices of engines are between 300-600 quid....a hell of a lot cheeper than rotax or blue.
