TKM has always been cheaper than Rotax and probably always will be. Tyres have been advertised has having as good, if not better, durability than the current Maxxis tyre. I can complete a rebuild on my son's engine for less than Ł80, not having to worry about a seal, I can do the work myself. Changes in regulations means that not only CIK chassis can be used, but so can older TKM chassis that would have been scrap, had the regs not changed. All-in-all a novice could get on a TKM grid for about Ł1000 including licence and racewear. Try doing that in Rotax - no chance!!
