Well, as an example on our Max/Exprit. if we're running 12/84 we'll use a 110 chain.

For 12/77 we'll use a 106, otherwise you end up with problems of resetting the exhaust position and shifting engine weight about.

On a Max, the coil can end up catching a seat stay or seat mounting tube.

3 or 4 chains, 106, 108, 110, will be more than adequate for a cross section of most tracks.

Obviously if your still in TKM and not (maybe) Max as your profile says, then the lengths may vary slightly due to the different gearing you use.

When cleaning chains, use a small screw top plastic bottle (Lucozade Sport) with an inch of petrol in it and with the lid on tight, shake really vigorously for 30 secs and your chain will emerge looking brand new.

The petrol pressurises the bottle and acts like a pressure washer.

Have a hook to hand to get the chain out again as they can wrap themselves up sometimes if the top is a small opening.
