The big issue with cadets, is that it has been shown that driving without a kneck brace can reduce lap times by a couple of tenths (Leatts give less difference). Competitive dads are thus more inclined to take the risk at the expense of their kids safety. In a competitive class this has a knock on effect almost forcing everybody to junk the kneckbraces. If it was compulsary then it would be a level playing field.

As for those who would leave or refuse to wear kneck braces. Perhaps they should go and visit the die hards languishing in prison who said the same about helmets for motorcycles. Don't they look stupid now?
