No I don't do TKM. I'm just contributing to debate that seems to be relevent to much of karting.

I've only been in karting a relatively short time, but it seems to me that a form of racing that should, at least at club level, be about accessable and relatively cheap motor racing has become corrupted by those making money from it. IMO tyre producers, sellers and promoters are the main culprit.

I for one will be off to another sport as soon as I can find something with the same buzz, which of course means I'll probably remain in karting, but unhappily and skint.

When we have a sitaution where people talk about going to cars because it's cheaper, then something needs to give.

I was under the impression that TKM was different, they had kept things simple on relatively hard tyres so that the driver remained the most important component. Doesn't karting still need a class that is like this?
Why do they now seem intent on chasing the other classes where being competitive, relys more on the size of somebodies cheque book?

I'm willing to concede that I might be the one out of step though and that karting has irreversably become the domain of those with more money than sense.
