One person's 'bad' experience is always offset by another's good experience.

We've done Whilton and the briefings are no different to most clubs we've been to. If they don't go through things than they're criticised and if they do. Case of damned either way!

As for the rude behaviour then can't comment but anyone who has been in this sport for a while will have a story to tell. That's not to say being rude can be excused but I'm sure if you tallied up who gets more abuse then it wouldn't be Dads etc.

Example of the person mentioned in this thread. Last year we did Sheny and my lad who funnily enough drove for the Protrain team at the time - was late for the briefing because he got caught in the queue for food!

My lad had gone to the track with the team and when I arrived I was told to report to the CoC. In a firm but polite way he told my lad that there was no excuse for not being at the briefing and told him to be there next time or else. Case over.

To be honest he was right to say what he did and although it was the only time my lad ever missed a briefing he had no excuse. And NO, the CoC had no idea which team we raced for so no bias either way.

As I said on a previous thread, I've had some amazingly negative answers from officials who have treated me like dirt when all I did was asked a simple question. And yes I did complain to the club in question (not Whilton)and it was followed up. Ironically the same official and I stood next to each other in Europe last year watching our respective sons race in the same event. I think I spoke to him first and we chatted away. I swear he didn't recall our previous 'meeting' but so what - I moved on.

If someone feels really strongly about how they've been treated then take it up with those concerned and depending on the response - decide what to do. Or as you say and is your right, vote with your feet. Which would be a shame as Whilton is a good track/club with good grids and good racing.

I reckon if everyone who had been on the reciving end of an official whether it be verbal or a decision and whether it was right or wrong - decided to hitch their trailer to another track - then before you know it there'd be no racing as we'll all be sitting at home telling stories about this person and that.
