Just in case anyone is wondering "what's a K-type sensor".

Thermocouple sensors are designated by their characteristics, which are determined by the materials used in construction.

Put simply, Thermocouples work by a junction of two dissimilar metal wires producing an electric current according to temperature. The designation K-type refers to the two metals used, not the physical shape or appearance of the sensor.

The Mychron will recognise a K-type by default, so depending if you have an under the plug, or water sensor, choose the type to fit your engine.
