I saw everything W60Dad. What you have not mentioned is that the advantage was taken in the dry, not the wet, as per the final.
In timed qualifying (dry) miles off pace. 1st heat (dry, and new exhaust, not used in TQ) bang on the pace, 5 tenths quicker than in first heat but sounded like a motocross bike.
Second heat (wet)o.k. pace
Final good pace.
BUT the cheating exhaust will not be of any good in the wet anyway, you don't need cheat power in those conditions.
AND as max75 has just reminded everyone, he has been caught before for cheating (driver, not team).
Finally, the team owner should have asked for his performance in the scrutineering bay to have been recorded on video. His attempt at delaying the truth coming out by pretending to be ill was absolutely stunning. They even called for the Paramedics to see him as he was so POORLY. It was what really gave him away as KNOWING exactly what he had put on that kart for the 1st heat. The chats between team members, the driver disappearing from parc ferme when you would normally have hung around to be vindicated.
