Good advice given by 'winger93'.
I see, from your profile, that you live in Derby. If you want your son to compete in MSA events then go to some of your 'local' circuits and talk to officials / drivers etc. to see what is involved.
I suggest visiting Wombwell (next meeting is 13th-14th June) or Fulbeck (next meeting is 27th - 28th June [50th Anniversary meeting]).
You haven't stated what experience your son has had re karting, or what your budget is likely to be. Remember, don't buy anything until you are completely aware of what is involved.
