just because an alloy contains 85% of one element it does not follow that the properties will be dominated by that element. depending upon the alloying elements, quantities and the lattice structures formed the properties can differ quite wildly. obviously there are many permutations under the mag" alloy" banner.

i never said that anyone believed that any wheels were of a single element. read what i actually posted and you will see it was in defence of the first point above.

i agree with the fact that wheels are under varying stresses. a material with good compressive loading handling is desirable however.

i agree with the truth being in the testing, hence my advice for people to do so.
