I gave this advice to someone 5 days ago. The names and classes are WRONG for you but the concept is the same:-

The best way is to go and meet some of the guys doing Mii and Junior Max. Thye process is simple:-

1) Post a new message wih the title, "Newbie needs intro for Minmax at Bukmore etc.."
2) You will get replies teling you when the next race for MinMax at Buckmore
3) Arrange to attend that next race and meet those who replied.
4) You (and harry) spend the day helping clean, push, carry, polish and buying the coffees/teas/bacon sarnies and you will see EXACTLY what MininMax entails.
5) do that a copuple of times at more than one track and then you'll know a HELPL of a lo6t about it.
6) You will also have met LOADS of people who will know a lot about MiniMax who can help you with your first kart, and may even be able to put you in contact with someone selling-up and that is the PERFECT way to buy your first kart!
7) Remember, it hardly matters WHAT kart he starts with so long as you can get spares and it is good CHEAP value! The reason is that he WILL damage it (lightly, because EVERYBODY does!) before he can USE all it's advantages. It's thus MUCH better (and cheaper!)to do the first stages of learning on something OLD and CHEAP rather than something quick and NEW. If you buy something EXCELLENT as the first kart, he will have damaged it or 'tired-it-out' before he knows how to USE that 'excellence'.

I've been doing this for 50 years. That's the best advice that I know of for a newbie!
