Just to explain a little more about the idea behind the fixed gearing: the formula we tried was to fix gearing at 47 but to allow heavier drivers an extra tooth for every 5kg they added to the minimum weight. On track this seemed to have worked well enough, but obviously needs fine-tuning. Suggestions welcome.
