They vary in length and also the threaded portion at the bottom can be two different thread sizes.

The position of the track rod mounting plate(s)can be at a different height and the design of the mounting points that set the ackermann steering geometry will also be different.

There are two different diameters used also.

Choosing one that is close will work, just be aware of all the differences.
