Over torqueing can split the old type backplate and result in the backplate coming loose and damaging the crank.

So long as the mating surfaces are in good condition, then the thing should stay tight.

IF Rotax had put a keyway in the crank, it would have solved the problem, but it has always been their forte to just rely on a taper on their engines.

If you're that wary, put an extra 10 Nm on the torque wrench for peace of mind.

If I have a clutch come loose, I always mate it back on with grinding paste.
