Basically, tyres are SO cheap that they are scrap after a few laps anyway!

Use that to your advantage.

Go to some races and find teams who will be throwing their tyres away having only done that day's racing. You may have to pay them a couple of quid but that should be all. Some will be delighted if you take the old stuff off their hands!
