If you look back to last year I invoked a thread on exactly this subject, poor consistency of Vegas. I had discovered from testing performance variations of lap time set to set of up to 7 tenths per lap.
Unfortunately it appears that Vega do not apply batch number identification numbers to their tyres so we are all in the same boat of the Vega lottery.
The options are Bridgestone or Mojo as used in Europe but the likelihood of getting JAG to change suppliers is pretty slim.
